How long is YOUR Attention Span??

Eric loves the computer!

As many of you know, kids have a very small attention span!  Eric is no different in this way.  In fact, IF he will sit and do something for 5 minutes..we are ecstatic!  He has never really liked television.  In the last couple years, he would watch something like Barney, or Backyardigans or even Thomas The Train.  He did watch Sesame Street for a while on and off too.  Eric goes in spurts with things like toys, TV, outside play, stickers, play dough.  He gets bored super easy.  He is too smart, we say!  Lately he has been a little more into the learning shows on TV.  He has been watching a whole entire 25 minute show.  He is singing and dancing to the songs they sing.  I can see him really start to get into it.  Most people would say that TV is BAD!  I WAS one of those people!  Eric is always going, going, going!  Non stop...never sits still.  Ever since he started walking at 3yrs he has never stopped!    So, for us, Eric getting into TV is a GREAT thing.  I have noticed him just soaking everything up that we watch like a humungous sponge.  He is, in a lot of ways, still at a 2-3 yr old level and he will be 5 in July 2011.  Although I don't really like the TV on during the day, I LOVE that Eric is having a longer attention span as well as WE are having a BLAST singing and dancing, since this is all so new!   I love that boy!
